Venchi Chocolates @ Gardens Mall Mid Valley

Recently tried the newly opened Venchi Chocolates in the Gardens Mall @ Mid Valley.

What can I say that isn't already said by others? Premium chocolates served as though you're in a fine dining restaurant!

My visit to the Park Lounge (Level 75) @ Park Hyatt KL

I visited the Park Lounge (Level 75) @ Park Hyatt recently for their Afternoon Tea.

The place had only been opened for a few months and was mainly empty. IMHO, the building looked quite surgically cold & lifeless. Plus, we were going around trying very hard to find the hotel lobby. (Later on, when I was chatting with 1 of the waiters, he told me that when he came for the interview, he was late for over 1 hour because he couldn't find the way to enter the hotel.)

The menu was inside a beautiful leather clad booklet. The 7-course menu included desert items as the 6th + 7th courses. 

Before we started, the waiter told us how things would go and we were presented with a box of 17 varieties of teas that we could try. Some were suitable for empty stomachs, before the food were served. Some were to go with the food. While some were to wash the palate and prepare the tastebuds for desert. We only managed to try 4 types as each type of tea is served in a pot.

The service was great and so was the food of course. Initially, I thought that we'd end up leaving the place hungry as the servings for each course was such a small portion. However, by the time we reached the last item on the 7-course menu, we were stuffed.

Of course, we had to wash it down with some coffee at the very end. To our pleasant surprise, we were each presented with a piece of dark chocolate before ending the whole experience.

The waiter offered to give us a tour of the whole floor as it was a lot larger than the section we were seated at. The space where we had the Afternoon Tea was only about 1/4 of the size of the whole place. There was a section with rooms for VIPs (must spend above RM5,000 to use it) and also a section where they made in-house premium chocolates priced at RM10 per 10g. (we were given a few pieces to try during desert.)
